Volunteer based, non-profit charity of a dog rescue based in the border city of Lloydminster Alberta / Saskatchewan. Working to provide better lives for dogs in a ruff spot.

Pets Purpose Animal Shelter Society is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of dogs and believe that every dog deserves a loving home. Our team works tirelessly to provide care, rehabilitation, and new opportunities for dogs in challenging situations. We are committed to sharing the unique stories of each dog and the services we provide to make a difference in their lives.

Meet Amanda

PPASS Treasurer

Amanda is one of our founding members, she is a Registered Nurse who works geriatrics at the Vermilion Health Care Centre.

She has a wealth of knowledge in human relations and is a huge advocate for both animal welfare and community engagement. Amanda uses her knowledge to screen which animals we can and should bring into our care. Amanda does our intakes and is our Foster Coordinator.

Many of our adult dogs start out at her house, which her family of 5 all loves to help with

Meet Ami

PPASS Vice-President

Ami is one of our founding member of Pets Purpose.

She is an early childhood educator and runs her own family day home. Ami brings to the table past animal shelter experience, her heart of gold, and her artistic flair that helps us with our promotions. Ami is part of our adoptions team, manages our social media pages and promotions.

You can often see her at many of our events and fundraisers.

Meet Janie

PPASS Secretary

Janie is one of our founding board members.

She is a retired commercial video producer and a retired cattle farmer. Janie brings to the table a wealth of knowledge on animal care / welfare as well as her drive for community service.

Janie is often posting and sharing our upcoming events around the community.

Meet Loretta

Loretta is one of our newer board members.

She is a long time Canada Post employee and devoted grandmother. Loretta was a die hard volunteer at a past animal rescue, she has so much love and energy to give to our dogs.

She is regularly collecting donations around the community and helping work events.

Meet Nicole

Nicole is one of our newer board members.

She bring years of animal welfare experience. She has both worked and volunteered at multiple veterinary clinics and animal rescues. She is a certified Veterinary Assistant with a passion for advocating for animals. She has lots of experience with community outreach and organizing fundraising and adoption events.

Nicole is our Adoptions Coordinator & she is often organizing events for our rescue.

Meet Pam

PPASS President

Pam is one of our founding member of Pets Purpose. She works in law enforcement as a court officer and brings to the table years of human relations experience. She acts as a liaison between the local RCMP and the rescue. She brings a wealth of knowledge with past rescue volunteer experience and her giant heart!

Pam wears many hats for our rescue, including our licensing, medical records, public relations, and a lot more behind the scenes that help the rescue stay up and running!

Vision Statement

We aim to hold all our pets to a high standard of care. We believe that every pet, whether young or old, social or shy, in good health or poor, deserves a good life. Every animal we bring into our organization is provided with the medical care, support, and love necessary to thrive.

We strive to have all our pets places in happy homes.

We are committed to ensuring that every animal finds the best possible home, we review all applications and choose a family that would be the best needs each individual dog.

We value our community. We want to work with animal welfare organizations and community members to help end pet homelessness.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Pets Purpose Animal Shelter Society is ran solely on volunteers. From our board of directors, fosters, events, and fundraiser; we are all people who strive to help where we can. Volunteers are the heart of everything we do.
