January 2025
After ending 2024 with an incredible milestone — 50 adoptions in our very first year — we entered the new year feeling proud, grateful, and more motivated than ever to continue our mission. And 2025 wasted no time reminding us just how important that mission is.
Cold Winters, Warm Hearts
Canadian winters are no joke — with temperatures dropping to dangerous lows, stray dogs are at serious risk, especially newborn puppies and nursing moms.
We started the year off with a high volume of emergency intakes, taking in 4 litters of puppies, 3 mommas, and several other dogs in desperate need of warmth, safety, and food.
It was an intense and emotional start to the year, but thanks to our incredible team of fosters, every one of these dogs had a warm place to land. The behind-the-scenes work was non-stop, but together, we rose to the challenge.
We’re endlessly grateful to our fosters — you are the backbone of this rescue, and your love quite literally saves lives.
First Adoption Event of 2025: Puppy Paw-Ty!
January also brought our first adoption event of the year, and it was a big one! We hosted the “Puppy Paw-Ty” at our favorite adoption event spot — Pet Value Lloydminster.
Our puppies were the stars of the show, bringing energy, cuteness, and cuddles to everyone who stopped by. The event was buzzing with visitors, interest, and hope for many of our adoptables'. It was the perfect way to start the year with joy and community connection.
Looking Ahead
While the year began with urgency and high demand, it also reminded us why we do what we do. Every intake, every adoption, and every tail wag keeps us going.
We’re excited (and ready!) to continue rescuing, healing, and rehoming dogs in 2025 — and we’re so thankful to have you along for the journey.
Stay tuned for more updates, events, and of course… more pups!
With gratitude,
The Pets Purpose Team
